Ankle Pressure Measurement and Oscillography in Vienna at our Group-Practice
This examination is used to detect circulatory disorders in the leg vessels (peripheral arterial occlusive disease, also known as “window shopping disease”) and, if necessary, in the arm vessels as well. It is also used for monitoring the progression of known vascular diseases. The procedure is completely painless and risk-free.
Similar to blood pressure measurement, cuffs are applied to the arms and legs, and pulse curves are recorded. These curves help determine whether a circulatory disorder is present. However, this examination cannot identify the exact location of vascular changes. Therefore, if a circulatory disorder is suspected, a vascular ultrasound is subsequently performed to determine the precise location and extent of the vascular narrowing.
